  • Pelvic floor physical therapy is a specialized branch of physical therapy that focuses on the assessment and treatment of the muscles, ligaments, and connective tissues that make up the pelvic floor. The pelvic floor is a group of muscles that support the bladder, rectum, and reproductive organs. These muscles play a crucial role in functions such as controlling urination, bowel movements, and sexual function. These muscles can also contribute to back, hip and pelvic pain.

    We are often taught to believe that , urinary incontinence, pain during pregnancy and many other issues are normal, but that is far from the truth! Let’s work together to address these concerns.

  • Your first visit will be a comprehensive evaluation where we will spend 75 minutes discussing your history, performing a physical exam and creating individualized goals. The physical exam is a way to gather information in order to best develop a treatment plan. An internal assessment may be indicated, but only with consent.

    Follow up visits vary in length and could consist of exercise, manual treatment, relaxation techniques, lifestyle modification and home program instruction.

  • It depends! During your initial evaluation we will work together to create goals and develop a plan of care. Most patients attend an average of 3 to 6 sessions, but varies depending on your individual needs. I am happy to work with you to create a plan that works best for you!

  • You do not need a prescription to initiate physical therapy in the state of Michigan. However, after 21 days or 10 sessions we do need a signed prescription to continue.

  • Yes! While I believe in-person treatments are the most beneficial, I understand that it may be challenging to find the time to attend. I offer 30 minute virtual visits and can provide customized exercise programs with weekly updates you can access directly from your patient portal.
